Recognition

Greater Ottawa County United Way's Volunteer Center is proud to be a leading force in recognizing the work of so many volunteers who play a crucial role in strengthening our community by giving freely of their time and talents. We recognize volunteers in four important community events:

Volunteer Stars – This opportunity brings volunteers into the spotlight. Dozens of volunteers from all over Ottawa County are recognized for their volunteer efforts during National Volunteer Week, April 13-19, 2008. Nominated volunteers receive red ribbon, gold star pin and name recognition in their local newspaper.

Date: April 13-19, 2008

Victory Dinner – An evening dinner and program focuses on recognizing the efforts of all who support Greater Ottawa County United Way. Special honor is given to the outstanding volunteer of the year.

Date: March

National Volunteer Week/Red Ribbon Campaign – Promotes and recognizes volunteering throughout Ottawa County by providing over 7,000 red ribbons shaped in a V for volunteers to wear during National Volunteer Week, the third week in April.
