Snug Harbor Holiday Feast

December 12, 2003 - Those who may not be as fortunate to have the means for a nice holiday meal in the coming weeks just got a little luckier. Snug Harbor in Grand Haven is hosting a holiday feast on Tuesday, December 23. Snug Harbor is teaming up with Greater Ottawa County United Way & Volunteer Center and other area organizations to invite community members to the feast.

“Our staff really wanted to do something special for local residents who are less fortunate than us and might not have the means for a nice meal during the holidays.” Says Michael Verstraete, manager, Snug Harbor. “It’s an obvious fit for us as a restaurant to share something that we’re good at—serving good food. We want these people to feel special.”

The meal will be served free of charge. Those who are interested in feasting at Snug Harbor on the 23rd will have the choice to make reservations at either 2:30 pm, 4:00 pm, 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm. Limited seating. Reservations must be made by Friday, December 18, 2003.

“We are happy to be able to be a part of a holiday event like this.” Says Joan Mack, Interim Executive Director, United Way & Volunteer Center. “There are some people out there, that because of a recent job loss or other situation, simply aren’t able to afford the extras during the holidays this year. The employees at Snug Harbor want to make sure that isn’t the case and help make someone’s holiday a little better.”

Call United Way & Volunteer Center at 842-7130 to make your reservation.
